Global crypto exchange Binance announced Friday that it has successfully registered as a financial services provider with New Zealand’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). The crypto exchange also announced the official launch of Binance New Zealand (Binance NZ).

The registration allows Binance NZ to offer a variety of financial services, including spot trading, staking and NFT.
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), CEO of Binance, commented:” Many large tech companies are having trouble opening New Zealand offices. For some, it is a small market that is often overlooked, but we see great value in having a serious presence in New Zealand.” The executive continued.
The history of fintech innovation in New Zealand is very well documented and the country was one of the earliest adopters of digital transactions in the world.
“We see New Zealand as a bit of a pioneer. From that perspective, I think there is a lot to be learned here, with the local team working with the Kiwis to chart the future of currency, trading, and the web,” Zhao further opined.
Binance is expanding globally, including Dubai, Kazakhstan, Romania, Spain, Brazil, Italy, and France. The company is also reportedly trying to re-enter the Japanese crypto market after withdrawing from it four years ago. Meanwhile, crypto exchanges have seen a record number of users in India after the government began imposing a new crypto tax.
The company has made regulatory compliance one of its top priorities. Last week, Binance created a global advisory board to address regulatory challenges.
